System Bacterial Protection Dispersive Ionisation

The Ultimate non-chemical protection.

NASA's planned Mars expedition is a 2½ year round trip. Astronauts obviously need drinking water, but the payload restrictions limit the amount of water that can be carried aboard. Sufficient water for such a long journey would be prohibitively heavy. Therefore, the water aboard has to be reused, with all the problems this entails. NASA chose silver ion water treatment as a totally reliable disinfection method. Appolo 15's Unit was English made.

The H.S.E. have issued L8 which currently states that hot water down services (to taps and showers) must operate at 60°C "but other strategies may be adopted, in every case the user must ensure that the installed process has been shown to be as effective as maintaining the temperature. Other references in L8 have been made to ionisation. This is also written in HTM 04 for NHS Establishments

Recent research by the Building Services Research and Information Association (BSRIA) report (T/N 96) states that "The results of ionisation water treatment have shown that it can be an effective strategy in hot and cold water installations, provided that the application is properly designed as part of an overall water treatment strategy".

Now widely accepted by HSE inspectors, EHO's and registration officers, this environmentally friendly system of low maintenance water quality management is now available to everyone. The peace of mind that an automated system can provide, allows lower hot water temperatures reducing the risk of scalding and offering considerable savings in energy.(not in hospital environments)

How they work

Ionisation units are used in just about every situation where water needs to be purified. The units fit directly into water systems and produce a continuous residual non-chemical disinfectant, eliminating the need for high temperature and chemicals.
Legionella sp, E.Coli and Pseudomonas sp are a few of many water borne bacteria destroyed by this system.
