Recent figures show that only 6% of legionella outbreaks in 2006/7 came from hospitals compared with 67% unspecified assuming this is in the normal environment. This indicates that to avoid legionella, stay in hospital. However- the down side to this, other bugs! If legionella dosn't get you, the others will.
